Instead of using chemical based shampoos that actually damage hair over a period of time, it is a great idea to make a shampoo at home (Yauvanya DIY kit) that does not harm your hair and scalp. Ingredients used are known to be good for hair. These components are mild in nature, allowing the natural texture and natural oils of the hair retained. Procedure: In about 500ml of water, soak 5-6 Reetha pods, 6-7 pieces of Shikakai, a few Amla fruits overnight and half of fenugreek seeds and curry leaves. Next morning boil the mixture for 5-10minutes. Allow the mixture to cool and then using a blender, squash the ingredients to a pulp. Strain the mixture, discard the residue of the ingredients, and use generous amount of the liquid concoction as a shampoo. You may also store it in a glass bottle for future use. Rinse your hair thoroughly with water. Use it to shampoo your hair at least once a week.
